My story…
Vive began as a small experiment in my kitchen during the pandemic, inspired by the discovery that everyday botanicals could create extraordinary color. What started with pantry ingredients soon expanded into flowers, leaves, and plants gathered from gardens and wild spaces - each carrying its own unique pigment and character.
In my home studio, every textile is hand dyed using botanicals I grow and tend throughout the year from my dye garden. From seed to bloom to harvest, the process is slow, seasonal, and deeply hands-on. Variations in soil, weather, and harvest time make every piece entirely one of a kind.
Short for “revive,” Vive is rooted in giving flowers a lasting second life through cloth. Each silk is created in small batches as a reflection of nature’s beauty, impermanence, and abundance - designed to be worn, cherished, and connected to for years to come.
What is Eco-Printing, exactly?
Eco-printing is a natural dyeing technique that involves creating prints and patterns with the use of real flowers. Certain flowers that contain phytochemical compounds are arranged on a piece of pre-treated fabric, rolled tightly around a dowel and then steamed to extract the natural pigments. The resulting pattern left on the fabric is completely unique and varies depending on the species of flower, the fibers and the specific conditions of the printing process. No two prints are alike, which makes this craft uniquely beautiful.
Natural Dye Disclaimer:
All pieces are dyed with plant-based pigments, resulting in natural variation such as shifts in tone, subtle speckling, and occasional dye spots. These characteristics are inherent to botanical dyeing and are considered part of each item’s unique beauty.
Please be aware that natural dyes may soften or fade over time, especially with light exposure.
Due to the handmade nature of this work, returns and exchanges are not accepted.
